Traditional Mexican tamales made with masa dough and a savory filling.

Masa Dough
- 4 cups Masa Harina
- 2 cups Chicken Broth
- 1 cup Lard or vegetable shortening
- 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
- 1 teaspoon Salt
Filling
- 2 cups Shredded Chicken
- 1 cup Red Chili Sauce
Soak corn husks in warm water for 30 minutes.
In a large bowl, mix masa harina, baking powder, and salt.
Add lard and mix until dough is crumbly.
Gradually add chicken broth, mixing until dough is smooth and pliable.
Spread a thin layer of masa dough on each corn husk.
Add a spoonful of shredded chicken and red chili sauce in the center.
Fold the sides of the husk in, then fold the bottom up.
Place tamales in a steamer and steam for 1.5 to 2 hours.
Let tamales cool for a few minutes before serving.
