Main Ingredients
- 1 lb Ground beef
- 1 large Onion sliced
- 8 slices Rye bread
- 8 slices Swiss cheese
- 4 tablespoon Butter softened
- to taste Salt and pepper
1. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add a bit of butter. Add sliced onions and cook until caramelized, about 10 minutes. Remove from skillet.
2. Form ground beef into 4 patties. Season with salt and pepper. Cook patties in the same skillet over medium-high heat until browned and cooked through, about 4-5 minutes per side. Remove from skillet.
3. Butter one side of each slice of rye bread. Place 4 slices, buttered side down, on the skillet. Top each with a slice of cheese, a beef patty, caramelized onions, another slice of cheese, and another slice of bread, buttered side up.
4. Cook sandwiches until bread is golden brown and cheese is melted, about 3-4 minutes per side. Serve hot.
