Southern Buttermilk Fried Chicken

Chicken Marinade
- 1 cup Buttermilk
- 1 tablespoon Hot Sauce
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
Chicken Coating
- 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
- 1 teaspoon Paprika
- 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
- 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
- 8 pieces Chicken (drumsticks and thighs)
- 4 cups Vegetable Oil (for frying)
In a mixing bowl, combine buttermilk, hot sauce, salt, and black pepper. Add chicken pieces and marinate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
In another bowl, mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
Heat oil in a deep fryer to 350°F (175°C).
Dredge marinated chicken pieces in the flour mixture, ensuring they are well coated.
Fry chicken in batches for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
Drain on paper towels and serve hot.
