Pinto Beans with Mexican Style Seasonings

- 2 cups Pinto Beans dried
- 6 cups Water
- 1 medium Onion chopped
- 2 cloves Garlic minced
- 1 teaspoon Cumin ground
- 1 teaspoon Chili Powder
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
1. Rinse and sort the pinto beans, removing any debris.
2. In a large pot, add the beans and water. Bring to a boil.
3. Reduce the heat and simmer for about 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the beans are tender.
4. In a separate pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until softened.
5. Add the sautéed onion and garlic to the pot of beans. Stir in the cumin, chili powder, and salt.
6. Continue to simmer for another 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
7. Serve hot and enjoy!
