Main Ingredients
- 2 tablespoon Olive Oil
- 1 Onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves Garlic, minced
- 800 g Canned Tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 teaspoon Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Dried Oregano
- 1 teaspoon Dried Basil
- ¼ teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes optional
Heat the olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
Add the chopped onion and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes.
Add the minced garlic and cook for another 1-2 minutes.
Stir in the canned tomatoes, salt, sugar, oregano, basil, and red pepper flakes (if using).
Bring the sauce to a simmer and cook for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Use an immersion blender to blend the sauce to your desired consistency, or leave it chunky.
Adjust seasoning to taste and serve.
