Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1 Onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 800 g Canned Tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Basil
  • ¼ teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes optional

Instructions 

  1. Heat the olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the minced garlic and cook for another 1-2 minutes.
  4. Stir in the canned tomatoes, salt, sugar, oregano, basil, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  5. Bring the sauce to a simmer and cook for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Use an immersion blender to blend the sauce to your desired consistency, or leave it chunky.
  7. Adjust seasoning to taste and serve.
