Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 3 lbs oxtail cut into pieces
  • 2 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 large onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 sprigs thyme
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 can butter beans drained and rinsed
  • 1 teaspoon browning sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper to taste

Instructions 

  1. 1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium-high heat.
  2. 2. Add the oxtail pieces and brown on all sides.
  3. 3. Remove the oxtail and set aside.
  4. 4. In the same pot, add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until softened.
  5. 5. Return the oxtail to the pot. Add thyme, beef broth, soy sauce, and browning sauce. Stir well.
  6. 6. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for about 3 hours, or until the oxtail is tender.
  7. 7. Add the butter beans and cook for an additional 15 minutes.
  8. 8. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Serve hot.
