Fried Green Tomatoes Recipe

- 4 green tomatoes sliced
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup vegetable oil for frying
1. Slice the green tomatoes about ¼ inch thick.
2. In one bowl, mix the flour, salt, and pepper.
3. In another bowl, pour the buttermilk.
4. In a third bowl, place the cornmeal.
5. Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat.
6. Dredge each tomato slice in the flour mixture, then dip in buttermilk, and finally coat with cornmeal.
7. Fry the tomatoes in the hot oil until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
8. Drain on paper towels and serve hot.
