- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1 egg beaten
- 8 hot dogs
- as needed oil for frying
Heat oil in a deep fryer to 375°F (190°C).
In a large bowl, whisk together cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
Stir in milk and beaten egg until smooth.
Insert wooden skewers into hot dogs.
Dip hot dogs into batter, coating them evenly.
Fry in hot oil until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes. Drain on paper towels.
