Ingredients 

Chicken and Broth

  • 1 whole Chicken cut into pieces
  • 8 cups Chicken Broth
  • 2 cups Carrots sliced
  • 2 cups Celery sliced
  • 1 large Onion diced
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • ½ teaspoon Black Pepper

Dumplings

  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 tablespoon Baking Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 2 tablespoon Butter melted

Instructions 

  1. 1. In a large pot, combine chicken, broth, carrots, celery, onion, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until chicken is cooked through, about 30 minutes.
  2. 2. Remove chicken from pot and let cool. Shred the meat, discarding bones and skin. Return shredded chicken to the pot.
  3. 3. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir in milk and melted butter until just combined.
  4. 4. Drop spoonfuls of the dumpling batter into the simmering pot. Cover and cook for 10-15 minutes, until dumplings are cooked through.
