Chakchouka Shakshouka Recipe
A delicious North African dish made with poached eggs in a spicy tomato and pepper sauce.

Main Ingredients
- 2 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 red bell pepper, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1 can crushed tomatoes (400g)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 4 eggs
- ¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onion and bell pepper. Cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
Add minced garlic, cumin, paprika, and coriander. Cook for another minute.
Add crushed tomatoes, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes until the sauce thickens.
Make small wells in the sauce and crack the eggs into each well. Cover and cook until the eggs are set, about 5 minutes.
Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.
