  • 1 loaf French bread sliced
  • 2 cups diced tomatoes
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh basil
  • ¼ cup balsamic vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • to taste salt
  • to taste black pepper

Instructions 

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Arrange the sliced French bread on a baking sheet.
  3. Toast the bread in the preheated oven for about 5 minutes, or until lightly browned.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, chopped basil, balsamic vinegar, minced garlic, and olive oil. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  5. Top each toasted bread slice with the tomato mixture.
