- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 jar marinara sauce 24 oz
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese shredded
- ½ cup Parmesan cheese grated
- 1 egg beaten
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- to taste salt and pepper
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Cook the ziti pasta according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute. Stir in the marinara sauce, dried basil, and dried oregano. Simmer for 10 minutes.
In a large bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, beaten egg, and half of the shredded mozzarella cheese. Mix well.
In a baking dish, layer half of the cooked ziti, half of the meat sauce, and half of the ricotta mixture. Repeat the layers. Top with the remaining mozzarella cheese and grated Parmesan cheese.
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
