Main Ingredients
- 4 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 2 tablespoon peanut butter
- 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 can tomato sauce (8 oz)
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, cook until softened.
Add chicken broth, peanut butter, cocoa powder, cumin, cinnamon, and oregano. Stir well.
Stir in tomato sauce, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
Blend the sauce until smooth. Return to pot and simmer for another 30 minutes.
