This is a lower calorie acaia bowl with added greens and protein powder for nutrient balance.
It is summer in Australia, and we have experienced some hot and humid days here this January. Cooking, or turning on any heat to cook is just too much work. Make this antioxidant rich smoothie bowl instead and sit by the pool and watch summer pass by.
Acaia bowls are very popular but can be calorie heavy. Perfect for breakfast or as a healthy treat.
Preparation
Freeze all of your ingredients for an acaia bowl thicker in consistency. If you like a little runny don’t freeze the almond milk. I freeze the milk and yogurt in large ice cube trays. Alternatively you can freeze in small tupperware containers. If the yogurt is stored frozen in a tuppaware container, run a little warm water, tap to loosen from the container and drop the contents into your blender.
Ingredients
100g Pure Organic Acai Pulp from any good health food store.
1/4 cup unsweetened coconut/almond milk
1/2 cup baby spinach
1/4 cup unsweetened coconut or Greek yogurt
2 cups mixed frozen berries
1 scoop low carb vanilla protein powder
Topping
1 scoop buckwheat
1/2 banana sliced
1 kiwi fruit sliced and peeled
Handful Mixed fresh Berries
1 tbspn granola
Pulp of 1 passionfruit
1 tbspn coconut flakes
Method
Now that you have prepped your ingredients by ensuring they are frozen and cold place all the ingredients except the toppings into a super-strong blender. It needs to be strong enough to pulverize all the cold ingredients.
Run the blender and tap intermittently to ensure ingredients mix through. This may take a minute or two. Pulse the blender.
When your satisfied with the smoothness, Scoop out the contents.
Now is the time to be creative and arrange The toppings for a professional finish.
